Sedna

from Wiracocha by Tony Maigua

/

about

Inspired by the goddess Sedna, Nuliayuk or Taluliyuk from the Inuit people up north in Canada. I was inspired by the myth of this entity behind so many histories of her power and her sad history. From what I read, this goddess that has many origin versions, is supposed to hold the sea creatures that hunters on the north pole look for, and then she releases them to the people just only when people of the communities offer her songs, offerings or in direct contact with the Shaman.
